More about me

I'm Dave from Durban, South Africa.. our east coast city and one of the major centres for the 2010 football World Cup. I have two law offices in Durban and in May 2011 decided to take-up my life-long ambition to fly. I started my training for a National Pilot's Licence, with PPL exams intending to convert to a Private Pilot's Licence. I passed my exams and then flight test and my NPL Licence was issued on the 27th October 2011. I completed my PPL conversion in March 2012 (which enables me to fly heavier aeroplanes over 600kg), so we then connected the second fuel tanks of the Light Sport Aircraft Sling to become a PPL plane type Sling 2 (TC06) and my PPL licence was issued on the 30th March 2012... into the BLUE!!!.

I have always also wanted to fly a seaplane and on the 30th April 2014 my United States SeaPlane rating and USA Pilot's Licence was approved after training at Lake Havasu in Arizona.

On the 5th April 2014, after many months of paperwork, my Flight School - Durban Skyye Flight School - was approved and we opened for business at Virginia Airport - with pilot training for microlight and light sport aircraft. http://durbanskyye.co.za
